This simple, four-square, farmhouse was originally built in 1896 and had undergone many décor changes and homeowner-built additions.  By the time we were on site, the home was suffering structural failures, electrical and HVAC issues, flooding, as well as mold and rodent infestations.  To preserve the original beauty of the home, it was decided to completely renovate the original building and add a 1,400 sq ft addition on the back to create two primary suites, a main floor bedroom/office, a very large kitchen space with a walk-in pantry, as well as a basement with 9’ ceilings.  Also, to create visual symmetry at the front of the original farmhouse, the front porch was rebuilt as a full wrap-around.  The project was topped-off by landscaping the backyard and building a large shed, creating a perfect multi-generational family home!

This bungalow is in a mature neighbourhood and backs onto green space, which made it highly desirable.  However, it still had all the original builder’s grade décor and finishes, as well as an unfinished basement.  Therefore, it was decided that the kitchen needed to be opened-up and completely updated, as well as the two full bathrooms.  The basement was designed with a large full bathroom, bedroom, home office, media room and bar, ample storage space and a large home gym.  The backyard was fully landscaped to create a bright, modern space with plenty of room for entertaining both inside and outside the home.

An entire top-to-bottom renovation updated this home, making the spaces flow better and refreshing and brightening the dated interiors.  A new deck and landscaping in the backyard completed the project.
